Treatment of Lake Wilbar begins. The five day initial treatment
schedule developed by Bob Eckhart is followed as outlined by him.
|
|
Following the initial dosage, a total of 4 mg/l per day was
injected at two points, 2 mg/l each, and 10 gallons (10 mg/l) was
sprayed twice weekly. |

Final Results |
|
Before and after sample analysis was not consistent. For the
parameters sampled both before and after treatment, all showed a
significant improvement. Average before and after results are as

Analytical Comment |
|
Water column sample showed a significant reduction in Total
Kjeldahl Nitrogen. Sludge samples indicate a significant reduction
in Total Volatile Solids, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen, and Total
Phosphorous. The large reduction in Total Volatile Solids was do
mainly to aeration. This would also account for the increase in %
Solids. |
|
From
observation it is obvious that the Total Suspended Solids and
Turbidity of the water in Lake Wilbar has been greatly reduced. |
